Organometallic compounds are those which have bond between a carbon and metal. Organometallic compounds are generally a more toxic form of the metal species because they have an increased bioavailability. Leeder Consulting can analyse a range of organometallic compounds to trace level in environmental samples.
Organoleads
Organoleads such as Tetraethyl lead (TEL) and Tetramethyl lead (TML) have been used as fuel additives to increase the fuels performance. Analysis for these compounds is performed by GC/MS for the following sample matrix: Air, Water, Soil, and Fuels & Product.
 Chromatogram of TML and TEL.
Organomercury
Organomercury species such as methyl mercury, ethyl mercury and phenyl mercury can be analysed in a single suite by LC-ICP/MS. This analysis also includes Hg2+.
Leeder Consulting has developed methodologies for the analysis of organomercury in Air, Water, Soil, and Biota.

Organotin
Industrial uses of Organotin includes: fungicides, in paints (marine paint antifoulant), and plastic stabilisers. The use of organotin has increased by an order of magnitude in the last 30 years.
Leeder Consulting as developed a method for the determination of organotins including Monobutyl tin, Dibutyl tin, Tributyltin, Monophenyl tin, Diphenyl tin, and Triphenyl tin. All of these compounds can be determined in a single method in a range of environmental matrices including soils, waters, and air. |
